The logistics service provider Produktservice Erdt GmbH from Viernheim protects itself with automatic fever scanner „SmartXcan“.
Like most companies, day-care centres or public authorities, the prevention of virus hotspots also plays an important role in the logistics sector.
As part of its corona concept, Produktservice Erdt GmbH has taken on a pioneering role and installed a SmartXcan fever scanner at all entrances to its Viernheim production site in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. This enables all employees and visitors to measure their body temperature and determine whether they have a fever or not. Particularly in constant groups, as is the case with a company’s workforce, regular fever screening has proven to be an extremely efficient tool for preventing the spread of infectious viruses.
The aim was to find a system that would allow mass temperature measurement without great effort.
Taking this requirement into account, the IT system house Erdt Systems GmbH & Co. KG, also part of the Erdt Group, became aware of the SmartXcan from Kentix.
The decisive factor in favour of the fever scanner from Idar-Oberstein in Rhineland-Palatinate was “the best cost-benefit ratio”.
Thanks to the contactless measuring process, no one has to pick up a fever gauge and then disinfect it. Additional personnel for measuring is also not necessary. Installation and commissioning was also quick and easy, and there was no need to call on Kentix technical support.
After the staff got used to regular fever measurement after only a few days, the automatic measurement process, which takes only seconds, has become routine. The measurements are safe and reliably help to ensure that no potentially contagious people with fever carry a virus into the company. This is not only helpful in pandemic times, but also during the cold season when influenza or the “real” flu is at stake.
