Both the clinical centre Idar-Oberstein and the Elisabeth Foundation Birkenfeld rely on fast temperature measurement with the Kentix SmartXcan in entrance areas.
Due to the corona pandemic and the resulting ban on contact, access to the Elisabeth Foundation Birkenfeld is only permitted to hospital staff and patients.
In order to guarantee this, a temporary reception was set up, where the Kentix SmartXcan is now used.
For all persons who want to enter the hospital, a test is mandatory.
In a few seconds, the body temperature is measured and if the test result is inconspicuous, access to the building is granted.
In case of abnormalities in body temperature, access is denied and the person is transferred to a secured hospital area for further examinations.
In contrast Klinikium Idar-Oberstein relies on the voluntary use of SmartXcan. The Kentix SmartXcan was set up free-standing at the main entrance.
“The Kentix SmartXcan is a useful addition to the measures already taken in our hospital,” says administrative director Hendrik Weinz.
“We want to make the test with the Kentix SmartXcan an integral part of hospital access. We are currently discussing its use at the main entrance or access to specific wards.”
