“Business and Corona – committed through the pandemic”. This was the theme of the 27th Economic Day of the Regional Initiative Rhein-Nahe-Hunsrück e.V., which was broadcast on 04.12.2020 as a livestream from Ingelheim, Germany.
In addition to workshops, panel discussions and a keynote speech by the well-known trend and futurologist Matthias Horx, three regional companies that have shown confidence during the crisis and have produced outstanding products or services to combat the corona pandemic were also honored.
As the first prize winner in the round, Managing Director Thomas Fritz von Kentix (left in the picture) also had the opportunity to give a live demonstration of the actual reason for the award, the SmartXcan automatic fever scanner, to the chairman of the regional initiative, Stefan Langenfeld, and the moderator Christoph Lanz from Berlin.
Managing Director Benjamin Gozdowski (top photo, second from left) accepted the award on behalf of Chemische Fabrik Dr. Stöcker from Pfaffen-Schwabenheim, a company that has managed to switch from car care and maintenance products to disinfectants that comply with WHO guidelines in a very short time. Dr. Oliver Harzer (top picture, third from left) took the prize on behalf of the large-scale laboratory Bioscientia, which carries out up to 15,000 coronate tests daily in Ingelheim alone.
The prize in the form of a clay sculpture by the artist Tanja Falkenhayer from Idar-Obersteine was in each case endowed with prize money of 2,000 euros.
