Together with its exclusive partner for the Greek market “NETECO IT Systems S.M.P.C.”, Kentix has equipped the “General Hospital of Kos” with a SmartXcan. Even the Greek Minister of Health, Vasilis Kikilias, convinced himself of the innovative device during an official visit to the General Hospital.
This makes the hospital the first hospital in Greece to use a non-contact fever scanner to monitor the body temperature of patients, visitors and hospital staff in the entrance area.
“With this intelligent technology, we are actively acting against the spread of viruses and infectious diseases and restore public confidence in public safety when we enter a public hospital,” explains Stamatis Vassiliadis, the hospital’s director.
Even the Greek Minister of Health, Vasilis Kikilias, convinced himself of the innovative device “made in Idar-Oberstein, Germany” during an official visit to the General Hospital and measured his body temperature within seconds before entering the building.
Afterwards he wrote on Facebook: “The island of Hippocrates has the potential to become a model island. We continue to strengthen the national health system with new human resources in our hospitals, modern equipment and solutions to tackle long-standing health problems. When it comes to public health, we do not work with predictions, but with prevention, which, as the “Father of Medicine” said, is superior to treatment”.
