KentixONE becomes even more flexible: Integrate external alarm systems with the KIO7060

With the new KIO7060 expansion module, KentixONE opens the door to even more comprehensive alarm integration. From now on, external alarm systems can be integrated directly into the Kentix system – precisely, synchronized and fully controllable. What used to be two separate worlds now merges into a unified security concept.

One platform, many possibilities

KentixONE already combines numerous security-related functions, including environmental monitoring, access control, early fire detection and video surveillance. The KIO7060 now adds a crucial component: the ability to intelligently connect external alarm systems via inputs and outputs. This allows motion detectors, door contacts or fault messages from existing systems to be transferred to KentixONE for further processing.

Technical basis: The KIO7060

The KIO7060 is an I/O module with six digital inputs and six potential-free relay outputs. It is powered via PoE or 12-48 V DC and can be integrated into the Kentix system via the network. It is integrated via the familiar web interface and then configured and controlled centrally in KentixONE.
Alarms from external sensors can be received via the inputs, for example when a door contact is triggered or a motion detector responds. The outputs, in turn, can be used to trigger actions such as activating a flashing light, triggering an audible alarm or arming external systems.

Intelligent linking in KentixONE

The special feature of this solution is the seamless integration of the I/O interfaces into the KentixONE alarm groups. Each input and each output can be logically linked to other system components. For example, if an external door contact is opened, KentixONE can automatically activate a defined alarm group and also control a siren via an output. Communication is synchronized. The system recognizes status changes in real time and can react immediately.

Wide range of applications

With this extension, KentixONE offers new possibilities for practical use – especially in environments where different systems operate in parallel. Whether data center, technical room, storage area or industrial plant: the direct coupling of external sensors and actuators makes the security concept significantly more powerful.
The focus is not only on the adoption of existing technology, but above all on the convenient expansion of the system logic. The KIO7060 turns KentixONE into a higher-level control center that intelligently combines and evaluates a wide variety of alarms – with all the advantages of the digital platform: central operation, automated reactions, detailed logging and flexible escalation rules.

Quickly integrated, ready for immediate use

Setting up the KIO7060 is straightforward: Once connected and integrated into the network, inputs and outputs can be assigned directly in KentixONE and alarm groups can be allocated. All actions, such as triggering an alarm or switching an output, are logged automatically.

Conclusion

With the KIO7060, KentixONE is growing in a new direction: it is becoming the central link between internal and external safety technology. The precise control via digital inputs and outputs not only opens up new possibilities, but also makes the entire safety network significantly more robust and flexible. Whether for new projects or for the intelligent expansion of existing structures – the KIO7060 creates the technical basis for holistically conceived security.
