Sensors and actuators
In addition to the monitoring areas already covered by the MultiSensors, the ability to connect external sensors and actuators opens up a wide range of other applications. For example, external units such as air conditioning systems, mains fuse monitoring, UPS systems or general system fault messages can be connected. In the usual Kentix consistency, our external sensors are connected either plug 'n' play via the Kentix system socket (SYSPORT) or via external I/O modules with Ethernet and POE.
Of course, all modules are monitored by KentixONE to prevent failures or sabotage.

How does leakage monitoring work?
The Kentix leakage sensor is a conductive sensor that continuously measures conductivity via several electrodes. In addition, the leak sensor has two sensor cables (10 or 20 m) with integrated sensors that detect water ingress early on along the entire length of the sensor cable. Connection is via LAN PoE.

I/O expansion modules
The I/O extension modules are used to connect external fault messages via electrical transfer contacts. For example, alarm messages from external systems such as generators, UPS systems, air conditioning systems, etc. can be easily integrated and monitored.
The I/O expansion modules are integrated into KentixONE via Ethernet and the power is supplied via PoE. This means that the modules can be installed anywhere in the network. The configuration is carried out via KentixONE. The module offers a simple basic IP configuration via the integrated web server and the option of testing the inputs/outputs without additional software.
When selecting the I/O modules, the different input signals must be taken into account. In 80% of applications, so-called "potential-free contacts" are connected. These are pure transfer contacts without voltage potential. The I/O module with 16 digital inputs (ART: KIO7053) is the ideal and most common solution for this. However, live connections with 12-50VDC or analogue signals with 0-10VDC or 4-20mA can also be integrated with the corresponding modules.
